The New York Knicks, despite all of the challenges they have had to overcome with injuries this season, find themselves in a position to potentially claim the No. 2 seed in the Eastern Conference for the NBA Playoffs. A major reason for them being in that position has been the performance of star point guard, Jalen Brunson.

Brunson, despite what straw polls and some NBA analysts may believe, has been playing at an MVP level. He has put the Knicks on his back and is carrying them to the finish line with one remarkable performance after another.

Their chances of earning the No. 2 seed were kept alive when the Knicks went on the road and defeated the Milwaukee Bucks 122-109, bringing them within one game of second place. Brunson was unstoppable, taking full advantage of an inconsistent Bucks’ defense and torching them.

He scored a game-high 43 points, adding eight assists and six rebounds. The scoring load was aided by Donte DiVincenzo, Isaiah Hartenstein, and Bojan Bogdanovic, who scored 26, 18 and 15 points, respectively.

But, after the game, it was Brunson who was receiving a lot of the publicity and recognition. Even one former NBA star took to social media to praise his performance against the Bucks, celebrating what he has done.

Stephon Marbury, who knows how hard it can be to be the point guard in New York after playing five seasons with his hometown Knicks, took to Instagram to give Brunson his flowers. Marbury was happy for what Brunson had done against Milwaukee and was looking forward to seeing Madison Square Garden rock during the NBA Playoffs.

“Big chips are on the shoulder of a Giant! This is how getting ready for the playoffs looks. The Garden is going to be rocking, and the energy is going to be electric. i can’t wait!!!” Marbury wrote on his Instagram. (H/T The Cold Wire)

Brunson certainly looks ready for the playoffs as he put on another masterclass against the Chicago Bulls on Tuesday night. He led the way once again with 45 points and eight assists, shooting 13-of-24 from the field and 7-of-12 from 3-point range while making all 12 of his free throw attempts.
