Why The Minnesota Timberwolves Do The Deal 

To judge this deal for the Wolves, we should first look at it in the aggregate. 

The Wolves would have flipped Jarred Vanderbilt, Walker Kessler, Malik Beasley, and four first-round picks for Terry Rozier and John Collins. That’s not great. Frankly, it’s brutal. 

On the other hand, you can’t judge the deal that way. The Gobert trade is done. The Wolves overpaid. By now, it’s a sunk cost. 

All they can do is try to fix this team. This deal should help. It’ll allow them to play at a pace and with the space that’ll help Anthony Edwards thrive.
