Building an NBA champion requires a lot of thought, too. 

Of course, talent is the first prerequisite. If you don’t have a superstar or two, you won’t be going all the way.

Still, that’s not the only consideration that general managers have to make. 

A championship-level team has to fit together as well. All of the team’s pieces need to complement each other. Perhaps that’s where the Bulls went wrong. 

After all, they assembled a trio of stars in LaVine, DeMar DeRozan and Nikola Vucevic that struggle on defense.

They may not be a perfect fit on offense, either – none of them are necessarily off-ball players. The Bulls may need a do-over.
