Why The Los Angeles Clippers Do The Deal 

As a matter of fact, the Clippers do not do this deal if they make a run towards the Conference Finals or higher. There may be more minor adjustments that need to be made by this team this summer if that happens. However, let’s assume for the sake of argument that they fail to meet the expectations. 

There is a high probability that they will do so, primarily because of the injury potential of George and Kawhi Leonard together.

There is a possibility that the Clippers may decide that having a team built around two players who get injured so frequently is simply not sustainable. It might be a good idea to rethink things if that’s the conclusion they reach.

With this deal, they will be able to get started on one. As a young player, Barrett still has a lot of potential, and he will also be accompanied by two first-round picks in addition to the one he already has. 

While it may not be the deal they had planned on making, it could still be a good one for them.
