As a matter of fact, draft capital can be compared to money in many ways. There are times when you spend your money in a poor way.
You have just spent all that money on a new television, and for whatever reason, you can’t get it to connect to your gaming console after you spent all that money on it. The money spent on it has so far been a waste.
It is also not uncommon for NBA teams to waste their draft capital in the same way. As an example, the Bulls would certainly be in a better position if they owned the upcoming pick that they will receive. Rather, they find themselves stranded in a land of no return.
It is with that in mind that the Pelicans will want to spend their picks carefully in the upcoming draft. Even so, hoarding them is not the best solution either.
