Why The Miami Heat Do The Deal
There is one concern that needs to be addressed here and that is the fit between Anfernee Simons and Tyler Herro.
In light of this, we almost sent Herro to Portland as part of this deal. As a result, we decided not to go ahead with it. That’s too lateral of a move to be worth Miami’s time. They’d prefer to keep the guy who already knows their infrastructure.
Furthermore, there should be no difficulties between the two in coexisting. A team does not need the backcourt to be able to generate playmaking in this modern, positionless league. It is possible to run two scorers in the same lineup at the same time.
The Heat are specifically built to be able to do this. Regardless, Jimmy Butler and Bam Adebayo are responsible for most of the playmaking on their team.

The organization would be making a major move to win right now if this was to happen. There is no reason why they should not make it if it is available.
Should the Blazers make it available?
