Trae Young is one of the best offensive guards in basketball. He’s a one-man offensive system. If you have Young, you have a plan of attack. 

Meanwhile, the Spurs are keeping some players that complement him nicely here. Keldon Johnson feels like an especially good teammate for him. His ability to space the floor and defend will make life easier on the floor general. 

Finally, we don’t know who the Spurs will be drafting this summer. If it’s Victor Wembanyama, acquiring Young could turn them into instant contenders.
