There’s no question that Bamba isn’t as productive as Turner at the moment. Could he ever be?
That’s a question worth asking. It’s also worth noting that Bamba is a few years younger. If he hits his ceiling, he could reach Turner’s level.
Of course, he may not. That’s fine. Bamba isn’t the only asset the Pacers are receiving here. Hachimura may have untapped upside that’ll allow him to become an impactful NBA player as well.
Still, even if neither of them pans out, a top-4 protected first-rounder is the icing on this cake for the Pacers.

All told, this deal makes them younger, a little deeper, and nets them some draft capital as well. If they make it, it shouldn’t come as a surprise to anybody.
