Why The San Antonio Spurs Do The Deal 

The Wizards may be on the brink of a rebuild. The Spurs are all the way in one. 

In fact, this is one of the worst teams in the NBA. That’s unlikely to change for the next several seasons. That’s exactly why the Spurs would be wise to get involved in this deal. 

They don’t need to worry about the length of Robinson’s contract. By the time they’re ready to compete, he’ll be an expiring deal – if he isn’t off the books altogether. 

In the meantime, they acquire Nikola Jovic here. He’s exactly the type of high feel front court playmaker that the Spurs have historically targeted.
