Why The Miami Heat Do The Deal
Bradley Beal has not been able to carry a contender on his own. That’s fine. Realistically, that’s a high bar that few players are able to meet.
By contrast, we’ve never seen him as a tertiary option. That’s exactly what he’d be in Miami. This team belongs to Jimmy Butler first and foremost.
Beal would likely be sharing 2B status with Bam Adebayo here. Where Adebayo has a knack for making plays for others, Beal is more of a pure scorer.
With the defensive attention teams pay to Butler, and Adebayo’s passing instincts, he should be able to score a lot.

All told, this deal has the Heat assembling a Big 3 that, if they develop the right chemistry, could compete for the NBA title this year.
If nothing else, they’ll get people paying attention to them.
