Detroit Pistons Receive: G/F Luguentz Dort, F David Nwaba
Oklahoma City Thunder Receive: F Bojan Bogdanovic
Of course, every rebuilding team has the same future goal. They just have different philosophies about how to get there.
Some teams tank hard, build their core through the draft, and then try to flip a switch. Think about the Philadelphia 76ers. They saw their “process” through to completion and then started adding impact veterans to make a push toward contention.
Others prefer a more gradual approach. They don’t mind being in the middle for a while. Look at the 2018-19 Toronto Raptors. They’d been a low-end playoff team for years – then, they added Kawhi Leonard and won a championship.
Who can say which approach is best? There’s too much data to support both.
