There’s a real chance that it would. This could be a case of addition by subtraction. It’s fair to say that a 3-and-D wing like Wiggins would complement this roster more than Towns. 

In fact, a starting frontcourt of Gobert, Jaden McDaniels, and Wiggins ought to be among the best defensive groups in the NBA. 

Meanwhile, this move allows the Wolves to completely build their offense around Anthony Edwards.
