Why The Dallas Mavericks Do The Deal
The Mavericks, in essence, do this deal because they need Lowry more than they need Hardaway Jr.
That’s not an easy decision to make – realistically, they need both. Still, the Mavericks are starved for another player that can handle secondary ball-handling duties behind Luka Doncic.
Meanwhile, they do manage to replace Hardaway Jr. in this deal. While Robinson is a far worse defender, he’s a similar movement shooter who’ll keep the floor open for Doncic.
That should make the addition of Lowry worthwhile.
