Why The Sacramento Kings Do The Deal
The Kings don’t badly need LeVert. With that said, they don’t badly need Barnes, either.
After all, rookie Keegan Murray is a remarkably similar player. Ahead of the draft, he was frequently compared to Barnes – and so far, he’s made good on that comparison.
This deal helps the Kings diversify their attack. LeVert is not a perfect player – he can be an inefficient shot-chucker. With that said, he is a more dynamic isolation scorer than Barnes.
Perhaps LeVert could lead the second unit, allowing the Kings to insert Malik Monk into the starting lineup.
