Why The Atlanta Hawks Do The Deal
If the Hawks really want to move Collins, they should have done it sooner.
His value would have been much higher a year or two ago. Unfortunately, given the persistence of those rumors, and his declining play, this is the best they’ll do for him now.
It’s still a suitable package. Martin is a quality 3-and-D wing – he’ll be a better fit for a roster that’s built around it’s playmaking backcourt.
Meanwhile, the Hawks may or may not use Robinson. He’s a great movement shooter, but a defensive liability at the same time.

Still, the Hawks are getting a first-round pick in part because they’re absorbing his contract here. If he can regain his confidence on the Hawks, that could make this a nice deal for Atlanta.
