Here, the Oklahoma City Thunder aren’t only offering a little more draft capital than the Houston Rockets could. They’re offering better picks.
After all, all of Houston’s picks are coming from themselves or Brooklyn. The Nets have been rolling lately, and we should assume that by adding Young, the Rockets would improve. None of those picks are likely to land in the lottery.
By contrast, several of these could. Ironically, the Hawks would be receiving Houston’s 2024 selection here. Meanwhile, most of the other selections convey so distantly in the future that basically, any outcome is possible.
Meanwhile, the Thunder complete their rebuild with this deal. Young would be joining Shai Gilgeous-Alexander to form one of the best backcourts in the NBA.
