Why The Philadelphia 76ers Do The Deal 

For the Sixers, the question here isn’t “how good is Tobias Harris.” The question is, “what are we getting from Tobias Harris?”

If the answer isn’t “more than we can get from P.J. Tucker,” Harris should be seen as a trade candidate. Meanwhile, with Joel Embiid, James Harden, and Tyrese Maxey on this roster, the Sixers don’t need much more from that position than floor spacing. 

They may benefit from flipping Harris for Hield with that in mind.

After all, Hield is simply a better shooter. Adding a lethal off-ball threat like him should make life easier for all of the Sixers’ stars.

Meanwhile, Theis isn’t a mere throw-in here. He’s a solid defensive big man who spaces the floor. In all likelihood, he’d be Philly’s primary backup big man from day one.
