There’s some logic in that. After all, the goal is to build the best possible team. Normally, that’s done by acquiring the best possible players.
At the same time, that logic exists in a vacuum. There are contextual factors that go into assessing a deal. Sometimes, nobody necessarily wins or loses the exchange.
After all, teams have different needs.
