Why The Miami Heat Do The Deal
The Heat’s rationale here is simple. They’re getting the best player in this deal.
That’s not a knock on Bam Adebayo. It’s a testament to Siakam’s greatness. Siakam is simply a much stronger half-court creator than Adebayo – that’s his main advantage in their individual matchup.
It happens to be a significant one. Moreover, it’s one the Heat could use. Between Siakam, Jimmy Butler, and Tyler Herro, they should be able to assemble one of the league’s best offenses. Siakam is no slouch on defense, either.
This deal leaves the Heat without a starting center. Granted, Siakam has been playing that position in Toronto, but the Heat may do well to put him back at the 4 and bump Jimmy Butler back to the 3.

Still, they could use Dewayne Dedmon in the position for now and look for a creative upgrade later.
Is this any kind of upgrade for the Raptors?
