It feels like the Mavericks inevitably have to make a deal of this nature. 

Perhaps Beal isn’t their preferred target. If they’d rather hold out for a two-way wing or a star big man, that’s fair.

Still, it’s hard to imagine how they’ll put a true title contender around Doncic without swinging a big trade for his co-star. 

We think Beal would be a great choice. His off-ball gravity will compliment Doncic when he’s making plays, and he can create shots for himself and others when Doncic needs a rest.

Best of all, the Mavericks aren’t gutting their roster to land him here. They’re sending out their two most interesting young players, three first-round picks, and two negligible players in Powell and Bertans. 

Should the Wizards accept that package for Beal?
