How many NBA stars does it take to screw in a lightbulb? We’re not sure. Who cares? It’s a dumb joke anyway. The real question is: how many NBA stars does it take to win an NBA championship?
Generally speaking, the answer is at least two. With so many talented teams in the Association, one star usually can’t carry a team to championship glory on his own. For the most part, he needs a co-star.
Luka Doncic of the Dallas Mavericks is a star. In fact, he’s talented enough to be the best player on a champion, but he still can’t do it on his own.
By contrast, Bradley Beal of the Washington Wizards is a star, but he’s probably best suited to be a second option on a true championship contender.
At some point, will Beal decide that he wants to go elsewhere using a trade to contend for a championship? The Mavericks could be an intriguing option if he were to do so.
Could the two join forces this summer?
