Why The Toronto Raptors Do The Deal 

Of course, the Raptors don’t do this deal to bring Lowry back home. That’s a nice story – but it’s not worth the cost of VanVleet. 

The Raptors do this deal because they’ve been woefully mediocre in 2022-23. It feels like it’s time for some major changes north of the border. This organization would probably be well served to turn an eye to the future. 

This deal has them doing exactly that. In fact, two first-round picks are probably the best deal the Raptors will get for VanVleet. 

After all, he’s undersized, approaching 30, and struggling this season. If anything, this may be an overpay on Miami’s part.
