Los Angeles Lakers Receive: G Zach LaVine, G/F Derrick Jones Jr. 

This should be a real difference-maker for the Los Angeles Lakers. 

Unlike DeMar DeRozan or Russell Westbrook, Zach LaVine is a great off-ball player. That makes him a perfect fit alongside LeBron James. There’s no question this deal would make the Lakers a much better team. 

On the other hand, it will not do the same for the Bulls. That’s not the point here. They’re bringing in some of the most valuable draft capital in the NBA and truly starting over. 

It’s a risky decision for the Bulls. They owe their pick this season to the Orlando Magic – also with top 4 protection.

With that said, if they moved DeRozan and Nikola Vucevic in separate transactions. they should be bad enough to at least maximize those odds. 

If they’re lucky, they’ll secure that pick and put together a team that starts heating up soon.
