Of course, the Houston Rockets are already rebuilding. They’re hoping to bring their rebuild to an end by next season. 

After all, this team owes its first-round pick in the 2024 draft to the Oklahoma City Thunder – with top-4 protections. In other words, they’re in a perfect position to allow Lonzo Ball to rehabilitate his injury in hopes of seeing him return to form next season. 

Some Rockets fans will resist this idea. Why are they surrendering draft capital for a player who can’t stay healthy? Well, consider it a gamble.

What’s more likely – Ball resuming his position as a starting caliber point guard, or one of the last picks in the first round of the draft becoming one?
