Why The Phoenix Suns Do The Deal
In the process of questioning Ayton’s stardom, some will point to his partnership with Chris Paul. They’ll tell you that any pick-and-roll big man is likely to look better with Paul on the ball-handling side of things.
This deal would put that theory to the test. Robinson may not have Ayton’s draft pedigree, but he’s every bit the lob threat that the former number-one pick is.
He may also be a better defender. Moreover, the Suns could use a boost to their guard rotation. Fournier may be on a burdensome contract, but he could still provide this team with meaningful minutes.
Still, the draft capital may be the largest draw here.
