Why The Brooklyn Nets Do The Deal 

For the Nets, this deal is all about versatility. 

Curry is a two. Perhaps he can man some minutes at the one, but realistically, this is an off-guard. On the other hand, Richardson can play the one, two, or three. 

Largely, that’s because he’s simply a better defender than Curry. We’re not saying he’s a generally more valuable player – Curry is a much better shooter – but we are saying he’s a more portable one. 

That counts for a team that’s stacked with shooters. Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving are the focal points of this offense. Meanwhile, Joe Harris is an elite shooting specialist in his own right.
