Normally, this is an organization that prefers to retool instead of rebuilding. Perfect. That’s exactly what this trade would have them do.
After all, Bam Adebayo, Tyler Herro, Michael Porter Jr., and Bones Hyland would make for one of the best young cores in the NBA. The pairing of Adebayo and Porter Jr. is especially appealing.
Adebayo is an excellent defender who can’t shoot, while Porter Jr is an elite shooter who struggles to defend. There is an obvious synergy in their skill sets.

Still, don’t sell Hyland short as an acquisition. He is scoring an absurd number of points relative to the time he sees on the floor this season. He’s a player with real star potential.
In time, he could be a vital part of an NBA offense – whether as a playmaker or a floor spacer.
