There are very few perfect players in NBA history – if there are any at all.
That means that even superstars need to be built around. Their teams need players that complement them. Even the league’s best players need that complimentary supporting cast.
For example, look at Nikola Jokic. He’s one of the best players in the NBA. In fact, he’s a back-to-back MVP. With that said, he has limitations too.
Specifically, those limitations come on the defensive end of the floor. The Nuggets have done a great job surrounding Jokic with spacing, but they’ve done very little to account for his defensive shortcomings.
