Forget about Irving’s off-court antics for a moment. We’ll get back to them. It’s worth noting that he’d be a perfect on-court fit for the Timberwolves. 

Realistically, the Wolves need a point guard who can space the floor. As constructed, their spacing is cramped. The addition of Rudy Gobert has left Anthony Edwards with precious little room to operate. 

Irving would certainly give him some space. In fact, he’s one of the most consistent off-ball threats in the entire NBA.

The fact that he’s also one of the league’s best ball handlers leaves little doubt as to his on-court fit with this team.

Yes, adding him to a team that already appears to be struggling to get along is risky business. It’s a risk worth taking. Winning can sometimes cure all, and adding Irving gives them a better chance of winning.
