Collins is a functionally similar player to Harris. He’s a four who can space the floor and create his own shot. He’s simply much more athletic – this is mostly a talent upgrade for the Sixers. 

That athleticism ought to benefit Harden in particular. In Collins, he’ll have a lob threat to maximize his elite pick-and-roll acumen.

Still, this is mainly a gamble that the team will figure it out. Adding Collins doesn’t change the dynamic between Harden and Embiid – it just gives them a better player to work with.
