1. Find Obi Toppin More Minutes

The job of the head coach is to find the best lineup combinations that lead to victories. Conventional wisdom would lead you to believe that when you find something that works, you would want to use it more. That has not been the case with the Knicks this season, as a concerted effort needs to be made to find Obi Toppin more minutes.

Toppin has been arguably the most consistent player on the Knicks this season, right there with Brunson. Every time he steps on the court something good seems to happen as he has worked really hard at improving his game on both ends of the court.

So, why is Toppin playing at end of the rotation-type minutes despite the positive results? He is currently ninth on the team in minutes per game and that is something that has to change going forward.

Despite that, he is fourth on the team in Win Shares over at Basketball-Reference and only Jericho Sims and Mitchell Robinson have a better effective field goal percentage and true shooting percentages than Toppin on the team.

Only Immanuel Quickley has a better Net Rating than Toppin this season as his presence is being felt the most defensively. New York has a defensive rating of 105 with Toppin and 116.3 with him on the bench, which speaks volumes as well to just how poorly Julius Randle has been on the defensive side of the ball this season.
