Why The Miami Heat Do The Deal 

There’s a reason that the Knicks’ mediocrity has been expected, while the Heat’s has been surprising. 

The Heat have a more talented roster. They have the star players you need to win. Between Jimmy Butler, Bam Adebayo, and Tyler Herro, they should be better than this. 

A partial explanation of their shortcomings is a hole at the 4 spot. That just so happens to be Randle’s position. 

Granted, Randle doesn’t fit the profile of P.J. Tucker, the starting 4 on last year’s successful Heat squad. He’s a worse floor spacer and a vastly inferior defender.

He’s also a much more skilled basketball player. Between Randle, Adebayo, and Butler, the Heat may have the best playmaking frontcourt in the NBA. 

If they gel, they should be able to drag the Heat out of the league’s middle.
