Why The Brooklyn Nets Do The Deal 

There are almost too many reasons to list for Brooklyn to make this deal. 

Getting any value for Irving is the biggest one. Given his troubles in recent years, that may be a challenge. Here, they’d be capitalizing on the Bulls’ desperation for a point guard with Ball injured. 

They also need a stretch big man if they’re going to make Ben Simmons work. Vucevic qualifies. Moreover, Simmons’ elite defense should offset Vooch’s limitations in that area. 

Finally, gambling on Ball’s health is risky. At the same time, if he does return to form, the Nets won’t get a better player in exchange for Irving.
