Why The Boston Celtics Do The Deal 

The Celtics would trade White because they already have Brogdon. We’ve basically spoiled this article already. 

Moreover, the Celtics don’t have many movement shooters in Robinson’s ilk. Adding one could diversify their offensive attack. 

Of course, there’s a reason why the Celtics are getting a first-round pick here. Robinson is widely regarded as a defensive liability. He is not as impactful of a player as White. That doesn’t mean he’s not a better fit for this roster. 

In all likelihood, he’d only receive spot minutes in Boston. That’s fine – that’s all they’re giving White at the moment anyway.

All told, this deal has the Celtics moving a player they don’t need for one they might and some draft capital. That’s a good deal.
