Why The Los Angeles Lakers Do The Deal
This is a no-brainer for the Lakers. Frankly, most realistic Westbrook trades are.
Russell is obviously the prize in their return. He may not be an elite floor spacer, but he’s a vastly superior one to Westbrook.
Furthermore, he also provides the secondary ball-handing the Lakers need behind LeBron James.
Moreover, so does Anderson. He’s a quality playmaking wing who can also knock down open triples. Meanwhile, Prince is a solid 3-and-D who will complement any contending squad.

There’s not much to say here. The Lakers need to move Westbrook. Any trade that brings in quality players who space the floor is one they should make – even at the expense of draft capital.
If everything clicks, their season doesn’t have to be so disappointing after all.
