Minnesota Timberwolves Receive: G Russell Westbrook, 2027 First-Round Pick (LAL), 2029 First-Round Pick (LAL)
Los Angeles Lakers Receive: G D’Angelo Russell, F Kyle Anderson, F Taurean Prince
Of course, the offseason is a time when expectations are set. By that logic, Lakers fans shouldn’t have much to complain about.
After all, their team did little to improve this summer. Last year’s 34-win season was a disappointment – why should Lakers fans have expected any difference in 2022-23?
By contrast, the Timberwolves set a high bar for themselves. By trading four first-round picks for Rudy Gobert, they clearly established their intentions. The Timberwolves are playing to win in 2022-23.
All of which makes their 4-4 start difficult to swallow. Of course, it’s early. There is ample time for the Wolves to right the ship.
