Of course, Ben Simmons has always had the potential. You don’t get picked first overall in the NBA draft without it. That happens to be exactly where he landed in the 2016 Draft.

The hype around Simmons was practically immeasurable. The phrase “next LeBron was uttered.”

As a 6’10 point guard with incredible floor vision, what was there not to like? 

Well, as it turns out, there are qualities. For example, Simmons’ complete unwillingness to shoot a 3-pointer. Often, that’s translated into general passiveness on the offensive end of the floor.

It seems to have also destroyed his relationship with the team that selected him. The Philadelphia 76ers moved Simmons to the Nets. Now, in the midst of his first full season with the team, Simmons is struggling.
