Utah Jazz Receive: G/F Will Barton, F Rui Hachimura
Washington Wizards Receive: G Mike Conley
If there’s a lesson to glean from the Jazz’s season thus far, it may be this: tanking is hard.
In a sense, a tanking team is trying to game the system. The NBA has a lottery to give the league’s worst teams a way to improve. It’s not intended to incentivize teams to put themselves in a position where they need that improvement.
Meanwhile, no NBA player wants to tank. Every player in the league owes their success, in part, to their competitive spirit. By virtue of having made it to the NBA, you know a player is a winner.
With that in mind, Lauri Markkannen is having a career year for the Jazz. His organization may be eying Wembanyama, but Markkaneen and the Jazz are eying the next game on their schedule.

If this team is going to tank, they may need to move some of their veteran players.
Is this the right return for Conley?
