Los Angeles Lakers Receive: G Mike Conley, F/C Kelly Olynyk, F Jarred Vanderbilt

Utah Jazz Receive: G Russell Westbrook, 2027 First-Round Pick (LAL), 2029 First-Round Pick (LAL) 

Deciding which Jazz players to include here was a challenge. 

Conley and Olynyk stood out as obvious candidates. Before, Bojan Bogdanovic was the third piece. Unfortunately for NBA writers, he is now a Detroit Piston. 

We almost went with Lauri Markkanen. Ultimately, his place this year has been good enough to warrant a first-round pick or more on its own.

As of now, the Jazz would hold out for a better deal than this for his services.

Of course, some would figure Jordan Clarkson to be a logical addition. We didn’t. The Lakers already have Patrick Beverley, and Lonnie Walker IV has been perhaps the brightest spot of their thus far dark season. Clarkson would only crowd this rotation. 

Eventually, we settled on Vanderbilt. All things, considered, is this the right package for the Lakers?
