Why The Los Angeles Lakers Do The Deal 

You’ve been here before. You know exactly why the Lakers do the deal. 

They need spacing, badly. The Lakers’ 0-4 start may not be a surprise, but that doesn’t mean it’s acceptable. As a matter of fact, it’s nothing less than a critical failure. 

Yet, there are reasons to be optimistic. LeBron James, somehow, still looks like a star. Meanwhile, Anthony Davis looks better than he has in a couple of years as well. With both stars operating at full capacity, the Lakers need to act. 

This deal brings them two strong floor spacers to complement the star duo.

In all likelihood, they’d start Harris at the 4 and shift Davis up to the 5. In that formation, the Lakers would finally have the spacing that, realistically, they’ve always needed in order to maximize James.
