Why The Utah Jazz Do The Deal
Let’s be honest. The Jazz don’t have enough talent to pick in the latter half of next year’s draft.
At the moment, it feels like the Jazz are taking opponents by surprise. They’re well-coached and difficult to scout. Outstanding ball movement may be keeping them afloat now, but a lack of star power should start to count for more as the season wears on.
In all likelihood, General Manager Danny Ainge is simply auditioning these guys. A 4-1 start is not sufficient reason to abandon their plan. The Jazz should be focused on the future, not the present.
This deal lands them a bunch of future-focused draft capital.
