Why The Miami Heat Do The Deal
By contrast, the Heat could actually have ample room for Morris Sr. this season.
After all, they lost P.J. Tucker this summer. Now, they’ve got something of a vacancy at the 4 spot.
Granted, they’ve got options. Caleb Martin is an outstanding 3-and-D wing who can hold down the position, while Nikola Jovic has flashed potential during Summer League. On the other hand, Martin is just 6’5, while Jovic is a rookie. The Heat could use a veteran with some size to hold down the position on a part-time basis.
Morris Sr. could be the perfect candidate. The Heat don’t need a starting caliber player here – they just need a platoon. Between Martin, Morris Sr., and Jovic, they’d have enough at this position.

Morris Sr. fills a significant enough need for this club that they ought to part with Robinson and a second-round pick to land him.
They probably won’t mind parting with Robinson’s contract, either.
