Why The Washington Wizards Do The Deal
Before the Wizards do this deal, they should wait and see. Moreover, they should set their intentions for the 2022-23 season in the first place.
If the Wizards are content with another middling finish, there’s no need to make this deal. On the other hand, if they have an expectation that they’ll be better than advertised this season, a cold start could have them looking in a different direction.
Of course, many would have the Wizards tank this season. With a potentially historic draft on the horizon, many teams in their position would likely entertain that option. The Wizards don’t seem to have any intent on doing so.
With that in mind, this deal improves their depth. With plenty of spacing across the floor, they should be fine with a non-shooting, lob-catching big like Robinson.

Meanwhile, Rose would probably be this team’s starting point guard from day one.
Hopefully, landing them would allow the Wizards to reunite with playoff basketball.
