Why The Los Angeles Lakers Do The Deal
This deal follows the same framework that most hypothetical Westbrook deals do. They attach his contract to a pair of first-round picks and receive a bundle of valuable veterans in exchange.
We happen to like this particular bundle. The players that the Lakers are bringing in here offer a variety of skills. Moreover, each could be instrumental for the team in 2022-23.
Bogdanovic likely highlights the package. He’s an elite floor spacer who can create his own looks when needed as well. On the other hand, don’t sell Burks short. He’s developed into a solid 3-and-D wing in this league, with some extra passing instincts in addition to that skill set.
However, even Noel is a nice addition to the Lakers. With him at the 5 and Anthony Davis at the 4, the Lakers could field some defensive front courts reminiscent of their 2019-20 title run.

All told, this package would make the Lakers a better team in 2022-23.
What does it do for the Pistons?
