Los Angeles Lakers Receive: C Nikola Vucevic, G Lonzo Ball, G Alex Caruso, 2023 First-Round Pick (POR via CHI)
Chicago Bulls Receive: F/C Anthony Davis, G Kendrick Nunn
Not so long ago, this deal would have been unthinkable.
In 2019-20, the Los Angeles Lakers won the NBA championship. Some would hold that Anthony Davis was the most important player in their run. Whenever anybody would make that case while your teammates with LeBron James, you’re doing something right.
Unfortunately, injuries have plagued Davis since. In fact, he hasn’t looked like that version of himself in two seasons. At this point, it’s hard to say with any confidence that he ever will.
At the same time, he could! Davis is a gamble. He’s 29. That’s not old, but for an NBA player, it isn’t young either. That holds especially true for a big man.
