Brooklyn Nets Receive: F/C Draymond Green

Of course, it’s better to watch something great come to an end than it is to reach the cusp of greatness, but only to never reach it.

Sometimes, that happens to NBA teams as well. You can assemble a talented roster but still fail to reach the mountaintop. Such is life in the most competitive basketball league in the world.

The Brooklyn Nets are in danger of being the next team to follow that route. Heading into 2021-22, they had Kevin Durant, James Harden, and Kyrie Irving on their roster. They almost exited this summer without any of them remaining.

Harden is gone. He forced his way to the Philadelphia 76ers. Kevin Durant issued a trade request himself – only to retract it. Meanwhile, Kyrie Irving may be the root cause of many of the problems that threatened them in the first place.
