Chicago Bulls Receive: F Andrew Wiggins, C James Wiseman, F Jonathan Kuminga, 2026 First-Round Pick (GSW)
Golden State Warriors Receive: G Zach LaVine, F Derrick Jones Jr.

There’s an irony in drawing comparisons between the Warriors and the 90s Bulls. After all, the Warriors might be in for their own “last dance” moment in 2022-23.

As constructed, this roster is about to get prohibitively expensive. Andrew Wiggins’ contract is about to expire, and in 2021-22, he looked to be worth a pretty penny.

Of course, he already has a substantial contract. He won’t be in line for a raise – unlike Jordan Poole. He’ll be earning substantially more than he currently is when he signs a new contract next summer.

Meanwhile, Draymond Green is up for an extension soon as well. To hear him tell it, it ought to be a big one. All things considered, the Warriors are likely to face some difficult decisions sooner than later.

Still, they might as well go all-in for 2022-23. At this point, adding another title to their resume will do so much for this organization’s legacy that compromising their short-term future has to be seen as worth their while.

Is LaVine the right guy to help secure that legacy?
