Of course, some players aren’t liabilities. That may be because they’re reliable. On the other hand, it may be that they never developed into a player that teams rely on much in the first place.
Sometimes, players in the latter camp were highly anticipated NBA prospects. In that sense, I guess they did let someone down – draft evaluators. Many of them were likely relying on them to make them look good.
So far, that’s been the case for Coby White. At 6’5, White’s positional size as a point guard has always been intriguing.
Moreover, he flashed enough potential in college to see himself selected with the 7th overall pick in the 2019 draft.

Unfortunately, he hasn’t lived up to that billing so far. On the other hand, at 22, there’s still ample time for White to develop.
