Grant Hill. Penny Hardaway. Brandon Roy. Greg Oden. Bill Walton. All of these players had varying degrees of success before their bodies failed them, but they’re all subjects of the same “what might have been” questions.
Whether it’s for the right reasons or not, they’re immortalized.

None of which means Ball won’t try to avoid their fate. Like anyone, he’d prefer to play a lengthy NBA career. We can only hope his rehabilitation process allows him to do so.
