Utah Jazz Receive: G/F Josh Okogie, G Landry Shamet, 2023 First-Round Pick (PHO)
Phoenix Suns Receive: G Jordan Clarkson
Depth may be important, but in the NBA, top-end talent tends to win the day. Just ask the Utah Jazz.
For the past several seasons, the Jazz have fielded competitive teams built around Donovan Mitchell and Rudy Gobert. With that said, though the Jazz have stayed competitive, they’ve consistently fallen short of truly contending for the NBA championship.
Realistically, neither Mitchell nor Gobert is a top 5 player. As a matter of fact, neither is likely to even crack your top 10. The Jazz seem to have realized this, as they traded both this summer.
Now, the team is starting from scratch. Having triggered a rebuild, the Jazz have no reason to hold onto veterans like Bojan Bogdanovic, Mike Conley, or Clarkson.
